Go UNI Go

So March madness has finally began officially today. With the first round beginning today and the many games that are all scheduled today there is one team that I hope to do well in the tournament. That is the Panthers of UNI. I know that they might not make it as far as say UNC but hey at least they made into the tournament. They face off today against Purdue, who both them and UNI are successful teams and their records are not that far apart the only thing that really separates the records are like 3 games. Even though there have been many accounts in the past NCAA tournaments that the number 12 team always has an upset against a higher ranked team, I think that this game will be a close one, hopefully for me with an outcome of the panthers moving onto the second round of play. Why UNI? Well I have basically been following UNI teams pretty much my entire life with my dad being a graduate of the university; I have gone to many different sports ranging from football to wrestling. And I have been going to football games with my dad since I was like 9, and it’s to go, because it’s a fun experience to see how into some of the fans get into the game. I’m not going to lie have found myself getting pretty excited as well, but sometimes it my dad that out shines me when it comes to the whole excitement thing. I’m not saying that he is a crazy super fan or anything like that but he does sometimes get carried away. But any way back to basketball. The only thing that I don’t like about the games that happen during the day is that some teachers like to put the games on and some choose not to, so it’s hard to get updates on what’s going on with what team. So I’m hoping that they can pull through one of those lower ranked upsets and pull through a win and be able to move onto the second round, that would be something to see.

Spring Break

So it’s getting down to the wire and the last few days till finally we are away for a week of no school for spring break. And that’s exciting because it means that I am that much closer to finally graduating and finally finishing high school for good. But then it opens a whole other chapter to my life and that is preparing myself for college and the four years that I have to spend there. With bigger class sizes and the different types of classes that are offered their. Also the experience of going to college games, not that I haven’t been to one before, just that it will be as a college student and that I will experience it in a different light. But the fact that spring break is so close is really exciting because this year I’m actually doing something for a change instead of staying in cedar rapids the whole entire week and doing absolutely nothing and being bored out of my mind while other people around me are doing something for their spring break. I mean it’s no where major where I’m going it’s just a two hour drive with some friends to the big city of Des Moines, nothing major right, but hey I see it as doing something different for a change rather than just staying at home and doing nothing. I like going to Des Moines because it’s a totally different city than Cedar Rapids is. The shopping is way better there are more stores to choose from and there are more things to do there rather than in Cedar Rapids and I like that it’s a change from everyday life here in CR. Even though I’m only planning on going for a few days it will be a change to what I’ve been doing for every single spring break since I’ve had spring breaks, its nothing that special but I think it will be a fun couple of days to relax.

Graduation

So third term has finally started and I have finally realized even though I have basically been counting down the days till graduation and till the day that it’s the last for seniors and I couldn’t be more excited because the days are becoming more and more less till the day that I am finally done with my high school career, and that’s the best thing to think about. But then im kind of scared with graduating I don’t know why, because I should be overwhelmed with excitement of the day that I get to walk across the stage and get my diploma and that will be the day that my high school career is finally over. Also another thing that comes around to tell us seniors that are days of high school are finally ending is the big dance of prom, which makes graduating that more exciting because its even closer to the actual day that we actually are done with high school. But there is one thing that really stinks about being a senior, is the fact that as that days are counting down closer and closer to graduation, senioritis really kicks into gear. When you have senioritis you don’t want to do anything, you don’t want to do your homework and study for tests even though that’s the thing that’s most important thing for your classes, but you still don’t want to do anything, you want to be lazy and sleep in and don’t even want to walk into the front doors of the school and just sit there before school even starts because that makes it that much worse. Third term beginning doesn’t the fact of senioritis because the days till graduation and the day that seniors are finally done with high school, and from graduation on it’s the beginning of summer vacation for seniors and I am really wanting the days to go by faster. But there is one down side with the excitment of graduation, and that is the planning of the oh so exciting graduation party. All the planning of the locations and which invitations your going to use. Who im going to invite to the actually party itself, with all the relatives and all the other people ive that are included in that list of people that are invited. And of course the all important question of what kind of food to have at this celebration of graduating. Thats the big question mark, because there are so many options to have, am i going to go with the tradition of what everyone else has at there graduation party or am i going to be unique and have something that no one else is going to have. Its a tuffy, but i think i have awhile til i actually have to really start planning the graduation party.
